Todos os 650 policiais do 7º BPM (São Gonçalo) irão receber uma premiação de R$ 2 mil. O motivo é que os agentes conseguiram reduzir os índices de roubos de rua, roubo de veículos e letalidade violenta entre janeiro e junho de 2011, comparado ao mesmo período do ano passado. Além disso, o batalhão cumpriu todas as metas estabelecidas pelo Instituto de Segurança Pública (ISP).
Os dados foram divulgados nesta quinta-feira pelo comandante do 7º BPM, tenente-coronel Cláudio Luiz Oliveira. No primeiro semestre de 2011, em compração a 2010, o número de roubos de rua caiu aproximadamente 26%, o que equivale a 807 casos a menos. No índice de roubo a veículos, a queda foi de mais de 10%, o que em números significam 66 carros a menos roubados. O 7º BPM também se destacou nas atividade policiais. O número de prisões aumentou 55,7%, o que representa 249 capturas a mais. Também foram mais de 67 armas apreendidas em relação ao ano passado, aumento de aproximadamente 52%.
Em relação às drogas, o 7º BPM apreendeu 13 toneladas a mais de maconha, 46 quilos de cocaína e 5 quilos de crack, o que corresponde a aumentos de 128%, 414% e 57%, respectivamente, em relação ao primeiro semestre do ano passado.
